The Sky is Falling

Link: Google News keeps bringing us more news that the end of the world is near.  Mexico is invading from the South and the Canadians are terrorizing us from the North and North Korea from the West and Cuba from the SouthEast.  The bird flu is flying its way closer, while the West Nile mosquitos are starting to swarm.   The Palestinians are throwing rocks at their neighbors on all sides again.  Kenneth Lay had a heart attack and Dick Cheney shot his lawyer cause he looked like a quail.   Evolution is just some theory made up by a bunch of scientists with a hidden agenda to kill God.   

Death penalty and torture is OK for enemy combatants and people who leak stories that make the administration arm of big government out to be a bunch of evildoers, just like the Kings that used to run this place from abroad.  Global warming is getting popular and not many people can afford tickets for trips to outer space yet.  But have no fear, because we are only at terror alert level "be scared but don't panic, just accept the changes in law that we have to make after we break it" level.  Have no fear, because the only thing to fear is terrorism, and were winning the war on it by spreading democracy in the process of keeping it at bay catching people in Florida and Canada and other parts of the world and sending them to Gitmo Bay where they can hope nobody misses them because they might be away for quite a while, at least until the end of this war on an emotion - an emotion that can only end if we stop buying gas and start tapping into the sunshine a bit more, and other forms of that which gives life to our beautiful planet most of us would like to call "home-sweet-home".

You forgot to mention about the factories, and how people care more about their fashion than their families. And all the slaves and indentured servants around the world that are working for nothing to make the plastic crap you all like so much when it is on sale at Mal*Wart. At least some people are starting to buy things from stores like American Apparal, or not spending their money on foolish things, but valuing time more than money so they can enjoy the sunshine on a cloudy day, or the flowers blooming in the hills, or the waterfalls watering the waters, or some other existential chit like that.
